Kannapolis Moving to New Facebook Page

Here’s some news on the Kannapolis Facebook front. After more than two years set up as a person, we’re making the move to set up the City’s Facebook account as a page. For those that are our friends (thanks!), that means that after March 9 the only place to keep in touch with the City via Facebook is on the new page.

We have decided to move in order to bring you additional features, and we hope that you will join us on our new page. In order to do this, please click here and click the “Like” button at the top of the page. We hope to see you there soon!

Vermicomposting Anyone?

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) will offer a course in organic gardening and worm composting, or worm farming, in January. (Vermicomposting is another term for worm farming.)

“Organic Gardening & Worm Farming” will introduce students to the basic steps of organic gardening and worm composting. Topics for discussion will include the differences between the various types of worms, caring for worms, and tips for starting your own worm farming business.

Steve Little, owner/operator of D&S Worm Farm and author of  “The D&S Worm Book,” will teach the class. Little has more than 10 years of experience in worm composting and has done extensive research on the topic.

RCCC is offering two sections of the class:

  • Jan. 22, at the North Campus in Salisbury
  • Jan. 27, at the N.C. Research Campus facility in Kannapolis

The course fee is $25. Advanced registration is recommended. Call RCCC at 704-216-3552 for more details.  To obtain a registration form click here.
